Is there anything you can't find at Walmart? The place has every product you could ever need: food, drinks, clothes, toys, electronics, and so on. But our favorite part about the famous retail giant has nothing to do with that and everything to do with the one-of-a-kind people-watching. If you want to see some of the weirdest human behavior out there, all you have to do is go to Walmart. So get ready to get your freak on with these funny photos of the most memorable shoppers to ever roam the aisles.
Charlene Doubles as Her Local Walmart's Salesperson and Model
As with any other job, working at Walmart sometimes entails doing tasks you didn't agree to when you started working there. Periodically it is cleaning out the customer toilets or, as is the case with Charlene, becoming your store's model. Or should we say, supermodel? Charlene, the most iconic employee ever, takes in-store photographs with items for sale so that they can post the articles on her Walmart's Facebook page.
Charlene could have taken photographs of the items and been done with them, but instead, she put time and effort into crafting some hilarious pictures. She better be an employee of the month.
Everyone Knows Walmart Is Holy Ground
Back in the day, when a child went missing, the parents would typically have the missing children's faces placed on milk cartons for everyone to see. They no longer do that and instead hang the lost children photographs in locations people will often see, such as at your local Walmart. The photo below shows the touching moment when a child noticed the missing persons' board and knelt down in front of it to pray.
This person is raising their son to be a genuinely empathetic person, and it's showing. Who knew that going to Walmart could be such an emotional journey?
Santa Claus Joined a Punk Rock Band
Somehting you're pretty much guaranteed to see during any Walmart visit is people in some really odd outfits. These outfits and costumes are often crafted with love and care and deserve to be appreciated by the masses. Take this Santa Clause costume, for example. Rather than wearing the standard head gear with a Santa Clause hat, this gentleman has his spiked mohawk out and proud with miniature Santa Claus hats on each spike.
Not only is this "the punkest Santa" out there, but this costume blends tradition with the costume wearer's own style in a way that's absolutely legendary.
This Man Working the Gardening Section Is Not a Walmart Employee
Getting lost in the seemingly endless shelves and aisles is easy at the bigger Walmart stores. Parents and children must be extra vigilant not to lose sight of one another. Unfortunately, sometimes getting lost is unavoidable no matter how hard we try, especially when they decide to wander off on their own. Take this person, for example, who took her dad to Walmart only to lose him a few minutes into the shopping trip.
Fortunately, she eventually found her Dad. He was busy watering the plants in Walmart's greenhouse and hardly even noticed he'd lost sight of his daughter.
We Have a Feeling Her Husband Gets Lost Often
For some reason, when people get into relationships, they begin to do odd things, such as buying matching outfits and themed T-shirts. Examples of these shirts are numerous and range anywhere from "I am with her" shirts to the beauty seen below. But unlike many of these T-shirts, the ones seen below were actually useful. When this man got lost in Walmart, his T-shirt read, "If lost, please return to Dee." Luckily, a Walmart employee had recently seen Dee, whose T-shirt read, "I'm Dee."
Now we have a couple of questions: Did they buy these shirts for fun, and they just happened to be helpful? Or did they buy these shirts because Dee's husband is constantly getting lost?
Breaking News: Dinosaurs Can Transmit Viruses, Too
With the onset of the global pandemic, it became a requirement worldwide to wear facial masks whenever you went out in public. And this law applied to Walmart, too. Luckily, even the dinosaurs were aware of this, and this T-rex patiently waited in line for its turn to check out with its jumbo-sized mask over its gaping jaw. Who knew that dinosaurs were so considerate of others? We sure didn't.
Not only is the dinosaur showing excellent manners by wearing a mask, but it is also waiting so patiently in line. Too bad the rest of them went extinct thousands of years ago.
Walmart's Cameras Are Always Watching
You know when you walk into Walmart, and you can see yourself on the television screen showing what is appearing on that Walmart's security footage when you go through their entrance? We've all played around with it, done a few jumps, and made funny faces in the camera's view to see what we looked like on that screen. But this person took it to another level when they brought a terrifying picture of themselves awfully close to the camera.
This person broadcasting their creepy smile on the security footage to everyone entering probably left some of the customers and employees with nightmares.
These Belts Should Come With an Instruction Manual
There's probably not a soul out there who hasn't been guilty of buying stuff they don't need at some point or another. Take this person, for example. This gentleman appears to be taking a gander at his local Walmart's belt selection, but based on his personal fashion choices of massive, sagging pants, we are not exactly sure if that purchase will ever be helpful to him. After all, If you wear your pants around your knees, you probably don't need a belt.
Although, perhaps this man has two completely different styles; one for work and one for pleasure. Or maybe no one ever taught him how to use a belt correctly, and these should come with instructions.
Memes: The Modern Language
Memes are the modern language in many ways. These images and words make it possible to convey complex situations and feelings with a simple graphic. They are great fun for friends and family. And so it's not surprising that Walmart shoppers, too, are fans of the famous "Woman Yelling at Cat" meme. It looks like someone liked the meme so much that, while browsing the computer selection, they decided to change the screen savers of two computers to show the meme.
It's quite a simple idea, but the results definitely made plenty of people laugh. Just imagine minding your own business at Walmart and suddenly coming across this!
We Have a Feeling Their Entire Wardrobe Is Walmart Onesies
Now and again, you will see people wearing odd outfits. And Walmart is no exception - some of the more unique members of society are in attendance, after all. Here someone captured two people wearing matching one-piece zip-up pajamas. We could be wrong, but we're pretty sure they're Eeyore onesies (Winnie the Pooh fans will know). And even though they look super cute in their matching outfits, they are looking to freshen up their wardrobe with more one-piece pajamas. Maybe it's the start of a new season.
We have to wonder if these people are always wearing these matching outfits or if this is a special occasion because they want to retire these specific pajamas before buying new ones.
Anything Is a Pet if You Can Put It on Your Shoulder
Everyone has either owned a pet or wanted one at some point. Maybe you grew up in a dog family with a few furry friends running around the house. Or maybe you were one of those children with a pet rock. Early in those formative years, we learned that some animals could be pets and others could not. It would seem that this Walmart customer never got that message as he strolls the aisles with a living possum on his shoulder.
A possum as a pet is a brave choice; an even braver choice is having that possum go with you in public, sitting on your shoulder like a pirate's parrot.
All Employees Are Treated Equally
When working at establishments such as Walmart, it is standard practice to have a uniform to build team morale and help customers find help when needed. It would appear that this tradition is not limited to human employees at Walmart and extends to its automatic cleaning devices. One lucky shopper captured the image below of a cleaning bot wearing a fedora and a tie. How professional, right? Honestly, we might ask him for fashion advice next time we look for a job.
We have to agree with the Walmart management that this really does seem to build up character for the little robot and has also made it quite adorable.
Even Bubonic Plague Doctors Have to Party Every Once in a While
Every season is Spooky Season at Walmart. But seriously, Walmart shoppers have no problem showing up in costume any time of the year. And we're talking about full-grown adults, not just children. While standing in line, someone captured an image of this person in front of them, decked out in an ancient doctor's outfit from history's bubonic plague era. The costume is epic, and the bird doctor holding a six-pack of Coronas really brings the outfit together.
We wonder what the occasion was. Was he going to an epidemic-themed party? A regular costume party? Or was Walmart his only outing for the day?
She Takes Her Social Distancing Very Seriously
During the global pandemic that shook the world, we learned specific rules that would help us avoid catching the virus. One of these rules was to stand six feet apart from people in public. This rule was especially prevalent when it came to lines for checking out at crowded places such as Walmart. It would appear that this person took that guideline to heart and made a customized sign to express her passion for the social distancing rule.
The sign she wears says, "Please back the [explicit] up. 6 feet or more if not, I'll pepper spray... you." If we saw this sign, she wouldn't have to tell us twice to stay far, far away.
Walmart Is for Everyone, Even Muppets
Everyone knows that Walmart is one of those places where everyone can be found shopping. It doesn't matter where you're from or how much money you have; all sorts of people like Walmart. And it appears that the retail giant is not exclusive to human beings. As captured on camera, muppets have also found some necessary items, such as magazines, while at Walmart. Such a great example of an inclusive customer base.
We realize this is a human woman who has just placed her sunglasses and headband in a way that makes her look like one of the famous children's characters - but we're just going to go with our first impression, which was that she is a muppet.
The Most Iconic Family Costume
The problem with couples' costumes is that they are only useful before you start having a family. Once you start growing your crew by adding little ones, it gets harder to have matching or on-theme costumes. But this couple knows how to beat the game. They are dressed up as some of the original characters from the beloved childhood cartoon Pokémon: Ash Ketchum, Misty, and everyone's favorite Pokémon, Pikachu.
This family is rocking their Halloween costumes and has artfully captured a childhood favorite of many. Instead of going to Walmart, they should be entering a Halloween costume competition.
Watch Out for the Department Store's Secret Service
The police often visit Walmart due to the eccentric people and colorful activities that seem to be exclusive to the store's establishment. And, according to this picture, the cops will be making themselves a permanent fixture of Walmart locations. Luckily, it seems that they will be getting their own specially-sized vehicles so they can patrol the aisles and floors of your local Walmart stores with style and ease.
We just hope their sirens aren't too loud. We wouldn't want innocent shoppers to be disrupted and shocked by sudden siren noises taking over the huge store.
The Fun Continues in the Parking Lot
Nowadays, people have become more aware of the varied identities that individuals might identify with as new terms and ideas enter the mainstream culture. It would appear that Walmart is taking this into account and attempting to be more open-minded in their parking lots by allowing anyone to park there. They have gone as far as allowing blue cars to identify as a completely different color: camo. How very accepting and open-minded.
While it is encouraging to see national companies such as Walmart adopting such progressive policies, this might take identity politics a bit too far for most people.
Cause and Effect Relationship
We can bet that you were unaware that Walmart was offering lessons in cause-and-effect relationships. Just take this picture as an example. Within the liquor aisle at this Walmart location, they are showing what sometimes happens when one consumes too much alcohol by placing Huggies brand diapers right next to the whiskey selection. Was this an intentional physical representation that alcohol leads to unintended pregnancies or that having babies leads to alcoholism? The world might never know.
If this was not an intentional choice by Walmart, then we have to wonder how this situation came to be. Maybe someone with some newborns is having a rough time.
Don't Let Go
One of the hallmarks of Walmart is that the customers often wear unique fashion items. These outfits that can be only seen at Walmart are usually terribly entertaining and slightly concerning. Not only are most of these outfits not fashionable, but many of these people might need some help in the closet department. Take this woman's situation, for example. As colorfully illustrated by the associating meme, that bra strap is barely holding on for dear life. Then again, maybe that's what she went shopping for.
It would seem that this strenuous situation might have just been a mistaken clasping of her bra, but it is only millimeters away from a fashion disaster for her.
Whoever Said a Dog Is a Man's Best Friend Never Met This Goat
Out of all the animals in the world, some have stayed wild, some have been domesticated to be farm animals, and some have become pets to humans. However, there is a massive difference between farm animals and pets. It would seem that not everyone is aware of this fact, as shown below. At this Walmart's entrance is a man in his shopping cart with his pet, but instead of a dog, it is a goat.
We did not even know that animals, let alone farm animals such as goats, were allowed at Walmart. Perhaps the goat is an emotional support animal or something.
"When You Can't Find Your Face Mask but You Need to Go to Walmart"
Meet Jill, one of Walmart's biggest fans. She loves the retail store so much that when she ran out of facial masks during the pandemic, she wasn't gonna let that little obstacle stop her from going on her daily Walmart visit. So what did Jill do? She grabbed the lid of a pan and efficiently tucked it into her sweater's hood. The result? She looks like a child playing astronaut.
Jill might not know the best methods for stopping the spread of the virus, but she is certainly a loyal customer of Walmarts everywhere.
Beanbags Are $29.99, Creepy People Sold Separately
Ever gone to the store and seen a sale that you couldn't believe was happening? Examples are buying a bag of chips guarantees the purchase of a free soda or something. Well, at Walmart, the deals are a bit more intense and definitely unique. As captured on camera, within the bean bags on sale at Walmart sit human beings wearing full-body color suits that match their individual bean bags' color.
One can only assume that the human being attached to the bean bag has to be an included item with the purchase of the bean bag, but that feels illegal.
A Float That'll Soak up All the Pool Water
Have you ever seen an advertisement or an item and wondered how no one else might have seen what you are seeing? It would appear even giants such as Walmart can fall victim to not seeing what seems obvious to everyone else. Just take a look at this pool float that Walmart is selling. Sure, in the picture with the lady on it, it looks like a float, but we all know what it actually looks like.
Indeed, that appears to be a gigantic, waterproof version of a woman's pad for her period. The blue flourishes did not stop it from looking like one.
Abraham Lincoln Had a Career Change
Lincoln might be the most famous United States of America president. The fifteenth president of the USA is often associated with his victorious campaign of ending slavery in the country. However, less known is that he pursued a career as a vampire hunter after becoming infected with a vampire virus that has made the former president nearly immortal. If you didn't know, don't be too harsh on yourself because we made that entirely up.
However, after seeing the photograph of this vampire slaying man at Walmart, it suddenly starts to sound like a more reasonable theory to explain this man's presence at Walmart.
In Case Their Shoppers Don't Know What Bananas Are
Here we can see that Walmart is selling some "Long Yellow Things" for 0.78 a pound, which is an excellent price. Most people know these "Long Yellow Things" to be bananas. However, we should not judge the Walmart employee for not knowing the word for this highly uncommon fruit, except that it might just be one of the most common fruits out there, and the word Banana in most languages is Banana.
Maybe this employee is just like those of us who forget the most basic of words at the most inopportune times. We are pretty sure they could have asked someone, though.
Now That's a Cat Lady
The types of people who shop at Walmart range in various ways. However, one kind of person is almost guaranteed to be at a Walmart every minute of the day, the Cat Lady. Everyone knows a Cat Lady; they are usually someone who is either widowed or never married and has developed an unhealthy relationship with the nearly dozen of cats in her house. One such woman is depicted below, waiting in line.
All cat lovers out there have an inner cat lady, and the rest of humanity does as well. Just look at her taking her cats on a stroll in their stroller.
How Many Knives Is Too Many?
This question of how many knives is too many should not be a question one asks themselves regularly, but that does not mean it shouldn't be asked. Just look at this man who is waiting in line at Walmart with what appears to be nearly five knives on his belt. The answer for that man is that he probably only needs two knives, one for stabbing and one for cutting. The rules are simple.
We aren't sure what the man was expecting to find at Walmart that would require so many knives, but we are certainly not going to follow him down a dark alley.
Helpful Life Advice Brought to You by Walmart's Soap Dispensers
There's not usually anything exciting happening in the soaps section. Sure, you can find different scents and have fun taking a sniff at all of them, but that's about it. That is until this Walmart changed the game. Someone took some soap dispensers for sale and arranged them to write out, "Wash that a**." Ah, yes, this is truly one of those "Only at Walmart" moments. Who even takes these kinds of dispensers into the shower? They're meant for the sink!
We would pay good money to be a random customer at a random Walmart and get to spontaneously and unexpectedly come by this in real life.
So, Do You Think He Loves His Country?
Walmart is one of those American success stories where one person was able to build an empire. Honestly, it is the American dream we have all heard about, so it is no surprise that some of Walmart's customer base is very patriotic. Take a look at this gentleman who had himself decked out in a skintight American flag outfit. The red, white, and blue are strong with this one.
We aren't sure if the person who posted this photo is correct in saying that this man "births a bald eagle every morning," but we aren't sure they are wrong either.
Romantically Riding off Into the Sunset Together
When out in public, there are those couples who will engage in PDA, public displays of affection, that seriously disgust the everyday person. While that is generally the case, now and again, there will be that one couple whose displays of affection are nothing more than perfect and have one go down a spiral of jealousy and passionate earning for young love. Such a case is displayed here as an older couple shares a motorized shopping cart.
Whoever thought of passionate displays of love was most likely not envisioning this situation. However, we would be hard-pressed to find a more perfect display of love at Walmart.
Maxi Pad? More Like Maxi Mask
We are not exactly sure why but Walmarts must have a challenge where the wildest improvised masked person receives a reward. You will see anything from torn T-shirts to kitchenware used instead of a mask, but these people might take the cake. They are wearing their maxi pads taped to their face around their mouths and nostrils. The image is disturbing, and they win the supposed competition, hands down.
We would typically say that anything but a proper mask is likely useless. However, the other people at Walmart will be likely to give these two a wide berth.
Faux Sugar Babies Are Also Welcome at Walmart
The human being has discovered many different ways for men and women to engage in intimate activities without the participation of another person. One of the greatest inventions within this area is the doll seen below. Usually, these dolls are kept closely guarded secrets in one's bedroom. However, this grandpa felt the desire to bring his doll to Walmart with him, and it gets better. He also brought his grandson alongside him and his "partner."
As the poster of this image says, this grandpa is in a relationship with a "faux sugar baby," as she is literally made entirely out of plastic. Are you concerned yet?
"Woman Banned From Walmart After Eating Half a Cake, Demanding to Pay Half Price"
Children and sometimes adults think that if they play the innocent, outraged card, they will automatically be assumed innocent. Usually, after getting busted a few times, people learn that it is not so easy to get away with something. This woman never learned that lesson as she went to the Walmart employee and requested that she only pay to have the price of a chocolate cake they were selling because there was a bite mark on it.
The only problem here was that the woman was cleaning the chocolate cake off of her mouth as she complained to the Walmart staff member about the bite-marked cake.
Safety First, Kids
Taking your children or grandchildren to a store, such as Walmart, can be a scary experience. We hear stories of children disappearing from their parents in seconds while their guardians go up and down the aisles looking for food. Now there is a right way to handle this problem, and this ain't it. A woman chained her child to the shopping cart, so they couldn't leave their side. It feels like a call to child services is in their future.
This child will either be trained like a dog to be highly well-behaved, or they will become the biggest pain in their parent's butts when they start rebelling in their teens.
The Secret Walmart Santa Clause Who Visits the Children's ER Every Year
Now and again, Walmart will surprise you with a beautiful encounter, such as what was the case here. This woman was at Walmart, and when she saw a man with a cart full of stuffed animals, she just had to know why. The person explained that every year he likes to dress up as Santa Claus - which might sound odd, but wait because it gets better - and go to the children's ER, where he gives out these stuffed animals.
I am not the one crying. You are the one who is crying. This story reminds all of us what the holiday spirit is truly all about.
Long Lost Sisters Reunite
The great thing about identifiable Halloween costumes is that you never know who will be your perfect match for your outfit. Perhaps, you wanted to go as the three musketeers, but you had to find the second and third ones at your Halloween party. Fortunately for this little girl, when she dressed up as Anna from "Frozen," she had no clue that she would find her long-lost sister, Elsa, at her parent's local Walmart store.
What makes this story even more heartfelt is the fact that when "Anna" and "Elsa" saw each other, they ran towards each other screaming, "that's my sister."
The USA's Newest (and Proudest) Citizen
It is exceptional when a company recognizes its employees and their accomplishments. While often a rarity to find that type of environment in the modern-day workspace, Walmart certainly has it in spades. Here local Walmart in Tulsa, the management has recognized one of their employees, Jamie, for his accomplishment in passing his citizenship test for becoming a United States citizen. Such recognition is just so sweet and warms all of our hearts.
Walmarts message that they "are so proud of [Jamie] and all of [his] hard work" feels so personal that we would be lying if we said it wasn't bringing tears to our eyes.
Oh, She's Buying the Laundry Detergent? Then It's Ok She Drank From It
Walmart is known for being filled with eclectic people. Take this person's encounter: they were walking down some of the store's aisles when they came across a woman drinking from a laundry detergent bottle. When she caught him looking, she gasped in shock and screamed, "I'm gonna buy it." That's right - when she saw someone was watching her, she thought the other shopper's biggest concern about her drinking laundry detergent would be whether she was planning on paying for said detergent.
We (and the gentleman who caught this woman in the act) are more concerned with the fact that she was drinking laundry detergent and less concerned about whether or not she would buy it.
Making Dinosaur Sounds Is the Best Course of Action When Lost
Maybe you were an average high and middle school child and did not engage in silly children's games such as Tetradactyl. If you were one of those children, then you remained blissfully unaware of the game where children stand in a circle and scream "Tetradactyle" in each other's faces with the goal of making the recipient laugh. We thought this was merely a child's game (we stopped playing it years ago). But this grown Walmart shopper is still playing.
When this woman lost her boyfriend in Walmart, she called him, and he told her to hang up. She then heard him making the noises of a Tetradactyl and found him.
