Quick! Check your parent's basement and attic because there might be some valuable toys that are worth a fortune today! From Hot Wheels to Polly Pocket sets, you could rake in a few thousand dollars. Continue reading to see how much your old toys could sell for. You might be sitting on a pile of cash.

1. Original Tamagotchi

If you were a child in the '90s, you know how hard these little eggs were to take care of. You probably killed your Tamagotchi a few times and had to reset it, but you loved that little toy. If you happen to have an original Tamagotchi, you could make some money off of it.

A Tamagotchi still in the box could be sold for $3,000. The company launched a whole new line of Tamagotchis that have colored screens and can connect to a mobile app. It is probably a lot easier to take care of them when you can access it from your phone.

2. Pokémon Cards

In 1996, Pokemon trading cards became available, and kids were collecting these like crazy. People would come to school with binders full of cards to show off their collections.

Some of these cards are extremely rare. For instance, there is a holographic misprint Mewtwo card that sold for $11,997. Other cards are going for similar sums like a pre-released holographic Raichu card that is worth $10,000.

3. '90s Nintendo Gameboy

The Gameboy from the '90s gave you hours of fun. From playing Super Mario Brothers to Tetris, it was on everyone's wishlist for presents. Today, if you still have your Gameboy and the game cartridges, you can sell it for up to $1,500.

One limited edition gold-plated and diamond-encrusted Gameboy sold for $25,000. That is what we call a return on investment. Or, you could keep it and use it to have hours of fun again.

4. Original Furby

In 1998, the original Furby was introduced to the market right before Christmas, and it was a must-have for the holidays. Despite its creepy nature, people are still obsessed with this furry toy. An original Furby with the box can go for around $900.

If you are extra lucky, you might be holding onto one with a rare spelling mistake on the box. During one of their first releases, the Furby box was supposed to say "sing," but they misspelled it to say "sng." You could probably sell it for more because of that.

5. Vintage 1959 Barbie

The Barbie doll is the most recognized doll ever to be created. In 1959, the first Barbie was introduced by Mattel Inc. The doll was said to be a teenage fashion model from Wisconsin. The first Barbie could be purchased for only $3. Today, if you have a First edition in mint condition, it could be worth around $23,000.

There are two other barbies that have sold for a more than the original 1959 Barbie. The De Beers 40th Anniversary Barbie sold for $85,000, and the Stefani Canturi Barbie sold for $302,500. It is amazing how much money people will pay for an exclusive Barbie.

6. Original Monopoly Set

The first game of Monopoly was introduced in 1933. The creator made a hand-drawn version that sold for $146,500. Other vintage versions of the game from the 1930s are being sold for about $4,000-$6,000.
