Crowdfunding is one of the most amazing things the Internet has gifted us with. These days, anyone with a brilliant (or crazy) idea can pitch to the world and receive funding to make their dreams come true - from genius innovators, to that guy who just wanted to make a potato salad. Here are some of the most unique crowdfunded products out there, which might just solve a problem you didn’t even know you had!
#1 Toilet Bowl Projector
Everyone wishes going to the toilet was a bit more fun, and this unique product makes it so. With this light projector that easily attaches to the inside of the toilet lid, you can beam a variety of light images straight into your toilet bowl, like fish, roses or even a ‘poop’ emoji. This was obviously a popular idea with the public, because it got a whopping $23,178 of its $5,000 goal pledged.
#2 Licki Brush
This is one for the cat-lovers. Have you ever wanted to bond with your cat, but have struggled to make that connection because you’re not...well, a cat? The answer is the Licki Brush. Cats groom each other with their tongues as a way of bonding, so with this unique brush that you stick in your mouth, you can groom your cat right back. Sounds a bit silly? Well, it raised $52,179 of its $36,500 goal on Kickstarter, so obviously not!
#3 Smell-Based Alarm Clock
Ahh, there’s nothing better than the scent of fresh coffee or fried bacon in the morning to get you out of bed. And the creators of SensorWake quickly realized there was money in that revelation. This original alarm clock generates a variety of scents to help you wake up in the morning, from coffee to pastries to the ocean. This invention has raised around $200,000 of its $50,000 goal on Kickstarter to date.
#4 The Ostrich Pillow
Sometimes you’re just so desperate for sleep that you don’t even care if you have to look like you’re wearing an oversized ostrich head to get it. Enter the Ostrich Pillow - the ridiculous-looking yet revolutionary product that you stick on your head to catch those “zzzz”s on airplanes, in the library during an all-night study session, or anywhere you’d like! So many sleep-hungry people backed this product that it raised $195,094 of its $70,000 goal on Kickstarter.
#5 The Robot Lamp
Owning a robot might seem a bit far out of your reach, but not anymore. The awesome ‘Lampster’ is a lamp that looks just like your own little robot, and is actually inspired by the old headlights from cars and motorcycles. Aptly described as ‘A Lamp With Attitude’ this is definitely a unique addition to your workspace! Over $1,000,000 of the project’s $30,000 goal has been pledged so far.
